New commission: "Sequitur XIII" by Karlheinz Essl
Viennese composer, Karlheinz Essl, has invited Tzenka to join his work-in-progress project, Sequitur. Dr. Essl (Professor of composition for electro-acoustic and experimental music at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts) is to create a new work for inside piano and live electronics, which will be the thirtheenth in his Sequitur series.

Pre-order John Cage's Prepared Piano book
Tzenka's book, John Cage's Prepared Piano Music: The Nuts & Bolts, is now available for pre-order, with expected date of release 29 August 2008. Pre-orders will be notified when the book is available for purchase and will be redirected to the publisher's website. On the pre-order page is a short synopsis of the book.
The manuscript, in its dissertation form, won the University of Auckland Doctoral Thesis Award for 2007.

Doctoral thesis receives Best Doctoral Award
Tzenka has been awarded a Prize for Best Doctoral Thesis in 2007 from University of Auckland.
Her written submission entitled "John Cage's Prepared Piano Music: The Nuts and Bolts" was placed in the top five by a committee comprising members of the Board of Graduate Studies and the Scholarships Sub Committee. In his letter to Tzenka, the Dean of Graduate Studies, Professor Gregor Coster commended Tzenka's work for "demonstrable significance in its field, the originality and excellence of the research, and exceptional academic and intellectual achievement."
There were 207 successful doctoral completions in 2007 and five Best Doctoral Thesis prizes were awarded.

Atoll Records to release two albums
Tzenka is in the process of preparing and recording a CD of music by Erik Satie and John Cage, as well as one of her own compositions and several transcriptions. Expected release date mid-2008.
A second album, with works by Eve de Castro-Robinson, is to be recorded by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra in April 2008. Tzenka is featured in a piano and orchestra work, Peregrinations.

New commission: "Amfisimia" by Nikos Harizanos
Greek composer, Nikos Harizanos, has completed a commission for Tzenka, written for piano and tape, entitled "Amfisimia".

Radio New Zealand sends concert recording to Europe
Radio New Zealand's recording of Tzenka Dianova's "Sonatas and Interludes" performance (2 November 2005) has been selected to represent New Zealand's arts and culture to the European Broadcasters Union for 2008.

Toy piano sponsorship
Schoenhut Toy Piano Company has generously sponsored Tzenka with a Concert Grand toy piano, which will be featured in her upcoming recording of prepared piano music by Erik Satie and John Cage.

Successful completion of doctoral studies
On 30 April, Tzenka took her two final examinations, and the jury unanimously recommended she be awarded the degree Doctor of Musical Arts.
After a short break, Tzenka will begin work on her new project, involving arrangements of Erik Satie's music, to be recorded for Atoll Records.

Tzenka is excited to announce that she has been selected by one of Wellington’s elite fashion designers, Robyn Mathieson, to be her brand ambassador in Auckland for 2006/07.

Bacchanale Transcription Approved by C. F. Peters
Tzenka's prepared piano duet transcription of John Cage's "Bacchanale" has been approved by Edition Peters and authorized for performance and recording. Expect the premiere in 2007.
